Megan's Wedding

Yay! Clark and Megan got married!

After this experience we pretty much decided that we would never go to a wedding without getting a babysitter. Tyler stayed outside with Axl during the ceremony while Axl puked all over himself and Tyler. We proceeded to the reception after changing Axl's clothes where Axl kind of went crazy, but had a great time with DeAnna and Ryan celebrating Clark and Megan! Everything was beautiful and it really was a great time!

Not so good of Tyler and me, but nothing short of HILARIOUS.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Sturgeon!

Catherine's Bachelorette Party

My new favorite restaurant-- Saul Good...That's where we started the night before moving on to Todd's Karaoke! The night was a blast and several of us have decided to try and plan a group date at the karaoke bar. I think the night was quite fun for Catherine and ALL of us! Here are some highlights...

Mother's Day

After getting ready for church on my first official Mother's Day, I came downstairs to find these two handsome men. Axl was holding a card that his father actually wrote (...attempting to create childlike handwriting...which wasn't so hard considering his actual handwriting)
Anyway, it wasn't actually a Mother's Day card, it was a "New Baby Boy" card with a cow "jumping" over the moon when you open it. There was a handwritten caption that said "Just like my book"(we read Goodnight Moon nightly with Axl). The back of the card read,

"Mom,
I talked to Dad and he siad we can get thoes pictures you want!
Thanks for benig my MOM.
AXL"

(I'm not sure if the misspellings were purposeful, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt, ha.)

So...Marissa, the "pictures" I want are by YOU! Get ready to schedule our session!

PS
I'm so grateful for my extremely thoughtful husband and beautiful son! What a wonderful Mother's Day!

End of the Semester/Pseudo Graduation

There was lots of celebration as this semester drew to a close. I was so glad to be finished with school and spend the summer with Axl! Throughout the semester, my particular section in the Education program at UK became quite close. It was bitter sweet to experience the last days of class with these people I've spent every day with for the past 4 months.

Leighann had to work her new summer job on my last day of classes so Axl actually joined me at school. He was able to meet all my professors and classmates and joined us for lunch at Pazzo's on campus.
That night many of my classmates got together at the Tin Roof to celebrate completing all of the coursework in the education program...We only have Student Teaching left!
These are my closest friends in the program, DeAnna and Megan. They have been wonderful to me throughout the semester. Many a night, they would join me at my house for projects and study sessions so I could put Axl to bed. They are now, "Aunt Megan" and "Aunt De" to the AxMan. :)
During this eventful weekend, Axl also had his first taste of ice cream! After a "Graduation Celebration" on the lawn of the Taylor Education Building, we (Tyler, me, Axl, Megan, and DeAnna) went to Maggie Moo's for dessert. The first picture is one of his first bites, and the second is his response to one of his first tastes of SUGAR!On May 9th I actually walked at the Commencement Ceremony. However, because I still have student teaching left to complete my degree, I am not going to look at or post the pictures from the ceremony until I complete my last semester in December. If I happen to forget to do this--someone please remind me; I think it will be very therapeutic to attempt to recreate that feeling of closure.

YAY summer!
