Visit with Savannah Rayne
We were finally able to go see Savannah Rayne this week. This precious little girl belongs to one of my best friends from middle and high school. Through the years we have gone through periods of staying and losing touch, but we ALWAYS just seem to pick up where we left off. Man, do I love that girl, my bestest buddy, Leslie! :)

One Healthy Baby Girl and One Sick Little Boy
Yesterday was my follow-up ultrasound. We've been really nervous for the past month because they asked us to come back to look at the heart again; but were extremely relieved to be told yesterday that the heart looks perfect. :) And now, I guess, is as good a time as any to tell the name of our little girl--Cooper Jay. We'll just be playing the waiting game for the next 18 weeks!
On a much sadder note--Two nights ago, I put Axl to bed as usual at about 8:30, but when Tyler and I went upstairs to go to bed at about 11, there was a smell so strong and bad we couldn't figure out what it might be. We were actually making jokes about Axl's poopy diapers from the day, or perhaps Tyler's...well, you know...but the smell wasn't exactly "poopy". So anyway, I went into Axl's closed door to find the puke smell unbearable. We turned on the light and ran to him to find his crib full of puke, bears covered in puke, ears full of puke...Axl just sleeping right in it. I have never been so scared in my life--and I'm not exaggerating, that feeling will be with me for the rest of my life. I don't know where I heard/read it but I know stories about people puking in their sleep and choking/aspirating. I was sure that Axl had done just this--I couldn't figure out why he hadn't woken up--I can hear him when he wakes up! I grabbed him up quickly and started talking to him and jostling him and he woke up and promptly began puking again. We took him into the bath and I bathed him while Tyler cleaned up the crib. We kept him up after we got him in clean pajamas and Tyler thought of rehydrating him which I thought was a really good idea and Axl drank it down FAST! ...and five minutes later we were cleaning up projectile 20/80 juice water. I called the nurse and she just told me it was a virus, we should put him back to bed, and give him some water in the morning. Here we are now--countless pukes, 4 sheets, 5 baths, one complete high-chair wash, total downstairs mop, and one sleeping boy later. Literally, his wake time today has been a total of about one hour (in which he puked, of course). He's too weak to stand up, or move at all for that matter. I sure hope his little body can overcome this virus soon!

First Steps
After MUCH anticipation, Axl has FINALLY started walking! I'm so proud of the little guy.
He took his first steps on 11/05/2009.
He walked on his own accord for the first time on 12/07/2009.
He REALLY started walking on Christmas Eve!
By the time we returned from the cruise, his crawling days were over!
Our little boy is growing up!
