Since Valentine's Day was on a Sunday this year, we decided to celebrate on Saturday night by going out to eat at Saul Good with John and Erin. (For the record, I told Tyler in advance that I was refusing to go to White Castle for the 3rd Valentine's of our marriage...and any more future Valentine's for that matter...it was fun while it lasted.) We looked for a babysitter at first and then realized that the Stake Youth dance was that night so we gave up. Then that day we had a couple opportunities to take him to some friends' houses that offered to keep him but I had already gotten excited about celebrating with BOTH my Valentine's so we brought him along. Tyler and I dressed up for the occasion and we dressed Axl for the basketball game that night. ;)

On Sunday morning I woke up to a WHOLE package of Lofthouse cookies beside me in the bed (yum) and Axl and Dad had their gifts waiting for them downstairs.
Axl has been eating his weight in grapes lately, so when I saw these chocolate covered grapes I thought it was perfect! ...he pretended to like them in this picture and then refused to eat them. :)
Because Tyler works 2-10pm these days it wasn't really going to be very fun for me to go to a Valentine's dance alone, ha, so I kept a friend's twins who are about Axl's age on Friday night. I can't lie and say I wasn't a little scared, but it ended up going SO smoothly and all three of them had a great time together! Bedtime was even uneventful! We hope they'll come visit again soon!
Since I got essentially NOTHING done yesterday--even down to forgetting that the Primary Presidency was coming over to MY house for a meeting last night--I have decided to give myself a PUBLIC to-do list today. Hopefully this will whip my little butt (which is in actuality working currently on its hugaciousness because my butt explodes during pregnancy) into gear.

As we were finishing lunch I got a text from Erin about seeing a movie we had planned to see this week...hurriedly, easily forgetting this list, I arranged a babysitter and ran out the door. It worked out perfectly to put him down for a nap at Grandma's house and pick him up after the movie. Can't let a silly list make me miss a good time with a friend, right?? Straighten house while Axl is napping NIXED for the movie, but later at least straightened the kitchen NAP while Axl is napping :) (Probably won't happen) The movie was better :) Clean all three bathrooms (yuck-o) 2 of 3 CHECK, last one saved for tomorrow Put together toddler bed (pending Tyler's availability to help me before work) CHECK, we didn't have time to do it before Tyler went to work but Erin and I put our heads together and after some trial and error we were successful! (with Axl's help, of course) Last two items NIXED. Tyler is home now and I will put these off for tomorrow. Straighten Desk Put away remaining laundry
Well, here we go...wish me luck! Though I didn't finish everything on the list, I do feel infinitely better than I did at the end of the day yesterday...getting things done feels good for me...I wish I could remember this feeling on days when I lack the motivation to move. :)
Both in the 25th percentile, our little guy is stayin' petite :) I think the weight has a little to do with the stomach virus he recently fought, though.
The shots were one of the worst so far for me because it was the first time I really felt like he knew exactly what was going on and that I was holding him while they were doing this terrible thing to him! Anyway, he cried for probably about 5 minutes, but then wanted to walk out to the car, so I don't think his little thighs stayed sore very long. We went from there to meet John and Erin at the mall where I wanted to treat Axl to some ice cream...and he wouldn't eat it! Not even a bite--he screamed for several minutes after I tried to trick him by stuffing it in his mouth, thinking he would realize he liked it- wrong. Though from there we went to Texas Roadhouse where Axl put down atleast a 1/4 of my steak, some loaded baked potato, and a bunch of french fries, so he did get a little treat for enduring such torture.
It took quite a while for Axl's teeth to come in...in fact, he was at the ripe old age of 13 months before the first one appeared...but then, within a matter of weeks he had the two on the bottom and four on the top! When we broke out the toothbrush the first couple of times and told him to brush his teeth he promptly put the toothbrush (toothpaste and all) up to his head to brush his hair. The poor child didn't know there was anything in his mouth to brush, but he's certainly had enough hair to brush since birth! He quickly warmed to the process and I hate to admit that sometimes we skip the toothbrushing because it makes for such a fit when it's time to put the brush away and head to bed!
We were married on July 21st, 2007. Our son, Axl, was born on September 19th, 2008, our daughter, Cooper, was born on May 21st, 2010, and our 2nd daughter, Naomi, was born October 22nd, 2012. We're loving every minute of life! --that we're not getting pooped, puked, or peed on :)
