She is a diva!Madison County Baby Mister!Madison got a dollar! We had to pay 10 dollars to get in and it included rides. To get our money's worth, mom and I decided we needed to ride one. It wasn't worth it. I was sick until I got back to Nicholasville, and my mom has bruises on her hips from my weight and I have bruises on the inside of my elbow from trying to hold myself off of her. I'm not 10 anymore. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure I peed my pants. When did I get so old...Axl James being so cute!

David's cute kids!
Axl and I went to the Madison County fair this year to see Madison and Tripp, my niece and nephew, in the Toddler Miss and Baby Mister contests. They were adorable as usual and Tripp won 1st prize! Axl was adorable when everyone started clapping, you can actually see it register in his eyes what's going on in the video...his wheels are really starting to turn!!

It's been TWO years!!
Our actual one year anniversary was on a Tuesday...I made a spice cake for Tyler (our wedding cake and his favorite) and he brought me flowers (the same type as last year on accident! I told him he shouldn't have admitted that it was a coincidence!!
and just for fun...here are a couple from last year :)
Last year, Tyler and I had a "Staycation" in Lexington for our 1 year anniversary. We had a great time, but this year we decided to venture out a little and stay a night in Cincinnati! This was the first time we have ever left Axl for the night. My parents were kind enough to keep him, so I definitely didn't worry, but it was funny how often Tyler and I thought of him. Probably about ever 2 hours one of us would be reminded of him and say, "you know how Axl does..." "you know how cute Axl is when he..." or just "I miss Axl!" --the last one was usually me :) But anyway, we had a really great time! We stayed at the Marriott, went to see Harry Potter (which was cool because we saw the previous one on our Honeymoon in Orlando), had the best steak EVER at Brio, a restaurant in Newport, went to IKEA, and went to Jungle Jim's for the first time (which I LOVED LOVED LOVED!) Can't wait to celebrate again next year!

Axl crawls! (term used rather loosely-more like creeps)
Axl started this move on Monday! It's quite funny to see how he tries to maneuver each and every part of his body to move all of about a centimeter...but even between then and now, he has gotten so much more efficient!
For the life of me, I canNOT get this video to upload. Hopefully I'll get it up in the next couple days if I can get Papa T to help me!!

Snack-a-holic
We are definitely at some sort of crossroads with Axl's eating...but I'm kind of confused. He seems to have way less of an appetite overall, only nurses a little bit, leaves pumped bottles half full, is definitely OVER baby food (I can usually trick him with sweet fruits for a little while, but he won't finish it anymore) , and only wants to eat (in small amounts) cheerios, crackers, puffs, some raisins, yogurt bites, and toast.
Anybody have any ideas what I should try? Maybe he's ready for more "big people" foods, I'm going to try some pasta, rice, etc. He will occasionally eat bite sized vegetables so I've been giving him those, but for some reason I never feel like he's eating enough for a meal when he won't any baby food...is this normal? Any ideas? Hey, this is my first kid...new territory for me- HELP!

Happy Anniversary!
Well, it's been two years. Time has surely flown by! We have the most adorable almost-1 year old to ever live, I'm about to graduate from school, we just bought a house, and I fall more in love with you every day. Life is so short and moves so fast...I'm just so grateful to be able to spend it with you!
I LOVE YOU, Tyler!

Axl is 10 months old today!
Another month has come and gone and I have realized that this month I have, by far, taken the least pictures. My goal this next month is to get back into my usual groove. I love that we have been pretty good about taking so many so we can look back at this first year of Axl's life and remember a lot!
Here is a combined effort list (Tyler and I) of what we want to remember about Axl at this particular point in his life.
can't crawl (really close, but no cigar)
can hang alone from the church pew
will not stay still on the changing table, rolls over to get the things out of the compartments on the side
likes his dad (submitted by Tyler)
has become extremely ticklish and easily amused
starting to wave
lowered his crib tonight
we think will have a blowout of some sort in the morning as he realized a very strong affinity for raisins today...and we kept giving them to him
eats yogurt and really likes it
hard to get him to eat baby food these days
the hair on top of his head is approximately 6 inches long
likes his dad (again, Tyler)
no teeth, waking in the middle of the night...maybe teething? but we've been saying that since he was about 3 months, so I'm not holding my breath
Says uh-oh
really likes the jogging stroller

4th of July in Tennessee!
We had a wonderful weekend with Karen and family in Tennessee! Axl and I drove up on Thursday with Jay's family and the Whites and Tyler joined us on Friday night. There were lots of family there- Bart and family, Cindy and family, we saw Renee and kids, Linda and family, Tom and Bonnie, and probably more I'm not thinking of at the moment.
Ava Minx
We had TONS of fun in Karen's pool! It's the perfect size--allowing for lots of room for swimming kids and a really great diving board. My weekend was occupied with flipping, then getting scared to flip again and spending the whole day trying to do it again-but I finally did. I really hate fear.
Jay
It was a really GREAT weekend! Thanks Karen and Dave for everything!
